Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains standard data, voice, or video network hardware and systems; looks into, addresses, and/or escalates hardware and network issues of importance; investigates, deciphers, and isolates errors; aids in evaluating and modernising older networks as necessary and in accordance with predetermined plans.
  • Offers internal and/or external clients first-line technical assistance on data, phone, or video networks; responds to regular technical inquiries; and suggests and puts into practise agreed course of action.
  • Installs and maintains network infrastructure for small networks, including hardware, software, and system data. Installing network programmes on voice or network servers, maintaining, testing, investigating, and fixing issues. Establishes the proper standard testing procedures or scripts; may test various voice or data equipment for maintenance, including routers, switches, hubs, optical equipment, multi-function switches, end offices, signalling transfer points, private branch exchanges (PBX), voice mail, call management systems, etc.
  • Supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of a variety of networks, including LAN, WAN, and voice systems, in compliance with predetermined specifications. creates voice or data network drawings and diagrams to communicate and document the networks’ present operational state.
  • Configures different voice or data equipment, including routers, switches, intelligent hubs, multi-function switches, end offices, signalling transfer points, PBXs, voice mail systems, call management systems, etc. for data or voice networks, and modifies their configurations to improve performance.
  • Creates routine proposal information and paperwork to satisfy client needs. helps with routine cost analysis, vendor comparisons, and feasibility assessments of various techniques to guarantee cost-effective and efficient operations.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or a comparable mix of training and work experience

Three or more years of experience working in data, voice, or video networks; a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or a similar profession

  • Working knowledge of contemporary local area network systems and technological communication problems
  • Experience working with current network systems and networking principles, data, voice or videos
  • Experience working with network software and hardware, data, voice or videos
  • Experience working with multiple technical platforms (e.g., mainframe, two-tiered client-server, three-tiered client-server)
  • possessing a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance or accessOther Qualifications :
